the YM Method
the Yoga and Movement Method is a hatha vinyasa yoga method
- relieving you of common aches and pains
- supporting you with better posture and spine health
- giving you ease in movement, breath and being still
- preparing you for Hatha Yoga and other advanced spiritual practices
YM vibes
The purpose of this practice is for the practitioner to better connect.
To Connect, to join. To bring together. To include all of ourself.
The correct practice of YM results in wonderment.
Of being moved rather than moving.
Of yoga doing us rather than us doing yoga.
The practice brings freedom to our Being by liberating the spine through
physical movements, breath movements and seated posture practice.
Therefore it is a Hatha Yoga/Hatha Vinyasa Yoga method.
The practice brings fluidity and strength,
passion which enlivens our very marrow.
The practice moves us towards greater freedom and purpose.
The practice encourages creative expression in our every day.

practice path
-
begin
On an introductory level it is an all round movement practice and a Hatha Yoga preparation practice. Elements of yoga can be experienced even in the early stages of this practice.
Practice consists of dynamic movement sequences, breath-work and other meditations cultivating stillness. Developing softness and receptivity are key. Natural breathing and allowing movements to breathe you.
Exploring the YM Fundamentals and Principles of practice.
-
next level
Over time and repetition of practices the spine awakens, the energy channels and the physical body connect more and more. Flexibility, strength and connectivity improves. Expansion happens.
Kettlebells are included in the movement practices. The dynamic vinyasa become more complex and therefore challenge the body-as-one-unit practice principle.
The principles of Hatha Yoga become more apparent as too the posture practices and connected breathwork.
-
level up
The experienced practitioner moves, and is naturally moved towards, more and more posture (asana), subtle energy practices (mudra, bandha, pranayama) and states of meditation.
Breath-work naturally deepens to reveal elements of Pranayama. Here we explore movement and breath alongside the energy body far more than before.

no contraction - no isolation - body as one unit
